This etching by William McKeown relates to his exquisitely delicate drawings of wild plants and flowers. The print was created to coincide with a major exhibition of his work at IMMA in 2008.


Born in County Tyrone, Northern Ireland in 1962, William MKeown is highly regarded in Ireland for his near abstract paintings andcoloured pencil drawings which express his concerns about our relationship with nature.. Recent solo shows include the Ormeau Baths Gallery, Belfast, 2002; Golden Thread Gallery, Belfast, 2004; Project Arts Centre, Dublin, 2004; Douglas Hyde Gallery, Dublin, 2004; and the Kerlin Gallery, Dublin, 2006. McKeown has participated in numerous group exhibitions and was Northern Ireland's representative at the 51st Venice Biennale in 2005. His work is included in the IMMA Collection and many private collections in Europe, and he was short-listed for the IMMA Glen Dimplex Artists Award in 1997.
