This set of 6 screen prints is based on the installation work Death Drive, from Alan Phelan’s exhibition at IMMA in 2009. Phelan’s work explores his ongoing engagement with political history, cultural theory, popular culture, masculinity and modified cars


Born in Dublin in 1968, Alan Phelan studied at Dublin City University and Rochester Institute of Technology, New York. Solo exhibitions include mother’s tankstation, Dublin, 2007; The LAB, Dublin, 2006; Millennium Court Arts Centre, Portadown, 2006; Galway Arts Centre, 2005 and Kilkenny Arts Festival, 2004. He was editor / curator for Printed Project, issue 5, launched at the 51st Venice Biennale, and has curated exhibitions at the Royal Hibernian Academy, Dublin; Project Arts Centre, Dublin and Rochester, New York.
